Turbo was the first to introduce interchangeable insert technology to the mainstream market with the introduction of Switch Grip in 2004. The premise of the invention was to help bowlers achieve a consistent feel and fit when using different bowling balls or to help bowlers who suffered from a shrinking or swelling thumb during competition. Switch Grip’s removable and interchangeable thumb assembly allows bowlers to quickly and easily remove a thumb insert and replace with a different size, perhaps larger for a swelling thumb, or to simply interchange when a different ball is needed. Switch Grip requires no special tools to use and is now offered in pro shops worldwide.

The Switch Grip assembly consists of two components, an Outer Sleeve which is permanently installed into the bowling ball and an Inner, removable Sleeve which acts more like a custom thumb that can be used in any ball equipped with an Outer Sleeve. Outer and Inner Sleeve components are constructed from high impact reinforced ABS plastic resin. The Inner Sleeve comes with a 100% Urethane solid pre-installed. Your pro shop professional will drill to your size like they do with a traditional thumb solid. The new ABS material has been tested and rated at 320 lbs of load shear force ensuring the strength, durability and integrity of the product when properly drilled.

Today, Switch Grip is the most widely used interchangeable thumb and has been endorsed by some of the most widely respected ball companies in our sport such as Brunswick, Ebonite and Storm. For more on Switch Grip, visit the Product Section of www.turbogrips.com.
